Karlshöfen Airfield, located near Gnarrenburg in Lower Saxony, is an important location for general aviation in the region. The airfield was founded in the late 1960s by Lüder Mehrwald and is now operated by the Aeroclub Elbe Weser Karlshöfen e.V. The airfield has a 700-meter runway and is home to around 30 aircraft, including both club aircraft and private aircraft.The Aeroclub Elbe Weser Karlshöfen e.V. offers a variety of activities and events, including flight training for aspiring pilots. Club life is active and includes around 170 members. The airfield is also a popular location for tandem skydives and other aviation-related events.In recent years, significant investments have been made in the airfield's infrastructure. A new hangar and a modern club building with flight school and tower have been built to improve operations and safety. These expansions have helped to stabilize the number of flight movements and prepare the airfield for the future.
