The Stalag X-B (abbreviation for main camp B of Military District X), that is, the second prisoner of war camp of the Military District X near Sandbostel northeast of Bremen was during the period of National Socialism a prison camp and prisoner of war. It came out of a camp of the FAD (Voluntary Labor Service Germany). In the last year of the war in 1945 it was used by the Schutzstaffel (SS) as a transit camp of the Neuengamme concentration camp and as a stopover in the later so-called death marches of various concentration camps.
