The art and culture association "De Treidlers von Kuhstermoor" has set the embellishment of Kuhstedtermoor as the first goal. In this context, a village center with village museum, oven, peat barge with shelter, peat stitch, coach house, farm garden and playground was created. The village museum was built by citizens of Kuhstedtermoor in 1999 and 2000. In terms of dimensions, it is a replica of a peat barn in the village. On the upper floor there is an apartment from the late 19th / early 20th century. On the ground floor there are old devices, such as those used to mine peat, but also old tools and other equipment. The peat barge on display is a half-hunted ship (capacity 6 m³), as was previously used to transport peat to Bremen. A shelter was built for this in 2002.
