Wikipedia defines this term as follows: ... Since about 1700, the term Enlightenment has meant the entire project of overcoming all structures obstructing progress through rational thinking. As important characteristics of the Enlightenment are the appeal to reason as a universal court of judgment, the fight against prejudice, the turn to the natural sciences, the plea for religious tolerance and the orientation to natural law. Sociopolitically, the Enlightenment aimed at more personal freedom of action (emancipation), education, civil rights, general human rights and the public interest as a state duty. Many thought leaders of the Enlightenment were optimistic that a rational society would gradually solve the main problems of human coexistence. For this they trusted in a critical public. Criticism of this "reasoning faith" emerged as a result of the French Revolution since about 1750 under the Enlightenment itself, then in the Sturm und Drang and in the Romantic era.

The temple itself is beautiful. It is particularly attractive that the temple can be seen through the park's various visual axes.
