Hiking

The building is made of granite stones and it is the old Auerbach waterworks. It is not the Selterswasserhäuschen either, it is between Hochstätten and Wilmshausen. Next to it is the new elevated water tank of the city of Bensheim from 1972. A little bit below is the Waldschlösschen, a guesthouse with café and beer garden - unfortunately currently closed due to Corona.

Hiking

When ascending to the castle, you can pass the waterworks depending on your choice. Skuriller old tower. The lower part is locked - from the top you can into the open spire - but not really inviting suitable for a short shelter - if you are surprised by a rain shower.
