The area called De Nieuwe Wuiven is a wonderful surprise, filled with trees, flower meadows and ditches. It was built near the turn of the century to provide the residents of Houten, Bunnik and Utrecht-East with a relaxed environment.

This location is also where a Roman fort once stood. The imposing wooden watchtower is a reminder of this history.
