Guardian Angel Chapel Aremberg

This small chapel with benches in front of it invites you to take a short break. Inside you can admire a surprisingly lavish and splendidly designed altar.

The chapel in honor of the holy Guardian Angels was built in 1669 under Laurentius Sprüncker, the pastor of Aremberg at the time.
At the beginning of the 19th century the chapel was enlarged by a porch.
The entrance portal of the extension was originally the gate of the Arenberg Castle. The original chapel was closed with a wooden wall with double doors, above which the following inscription is attached as a chronogram: HONORA VIATOR ORATORIVM S.ANGELI CVSTODIS = Wanderer, honor the place of prayer to St. Guardian Angels. On Saturday, May 29th, 2021 and Sunday, May 30th, 2021, the municipality of Aremberg celebrates the 350th anniversary of the Guardian Angel Chapel.
