The family by the von der Borch family is one of the oldest noble families in Westphalia. The knightly family settled in Holzhausen in the 16th century. After the fire in a previous building, Adrian Alhard von der Borch had a new two-storey manor house built in classicist style from 1802 to 1807, which was enclosed by a moat. The family cemetery of the noble family is located south of the manor house.
