The Petra Solara, the only ferry in NRW powered by solar energy, connects in every respect: two villages, two banks of the Weser, people and nature, ecology with economy, the useful with the beautiful. For exactly 20 years, since August 2002, the Petra Solara has been sailing between Hävern and Windheim. It resumes a centuries-old ferry tradition (a ferry connection was mentioned here as early as 1548), which was still alive in both Weser villages 25 years after the end of the old ferry connection (1976). It was the beginning of an unprecedented success story. Today the Petra Solara is more indispensable and popular than ever. And an experience of a special kind!
