Best Hikes to Lowthwaite Fell

Tips

  • Lowthwaite Fell is a Birkett in the northern Lake District National Park. It's often bypassed as Wainwright baggers connect Brae Fell or Great Sca Fell with Longlands Fell but Lowthwaite Fell is a great hill in its own right. At 509m it offers lovely views over Great Cockup to Skiddaw. The summit is marked with the smallest of cairns.

  • Lovely little hill that is surprisingly higher than its Wainwright neighbour Longlands Fell but is not a Wainwright in itself despite its lofty charm and great views.
