The once industrially used area, which served as a storage place for scrap metal, among others, was returned to nature for the State Garden Show 1992. In addition to ponds, fountains, pavilions and sculptures, there are also show and educational gardens as well as playgrounds, art and sound objects. Bank bridges and bridges were created and the cycle and hiking trails network expanded. The park has an extension of more than 7 kilometers and is an important inner city recreational area.
