Saturday we are the round trip on the "Roman-water sources" loop from Römer-Lippe-Route and radrevier.ruhr (roemerlipperoute.de/.../rundtour-ueber-die-roemi...) traced.
As a starting point, the Xantener market place is specified, where you just can not ride a bike, so we drove around the Xantener city center and have additionally circumnavigated the LVR Archaeological Park Xanten, here are beautiful bike paths created. Then it went according to plan on the former Boxteler railway line on. As usual, there are no bridges, but a nice stretch of ramps. Next to the road to Labbeck you do not have to go on the road but can drive on a wide bike path. Then direction Sonsbecker Switzerland, unfortunately, the lookout tower was blocked on Bögel's path, the view would have been great in the beautiful weather. (As I have seen now, according to sonsbeck.de/news/26/aussichtsturm-sperr the way, since 2015, only temporarily locked ...) The loop, which one drives here, can be nice relaxed off. The tour then continues to Grenzdyck and here you are after the previously relaxed cycling suddenly in front of the Philosopher's Path across the nature reserve, which is more of a riding path and from the ground accordingly sandy. That somehow did not fit the tour so far. So along the road back to Xanten and finally coffee and cake overlooking the cathedral. 😋
