The piece over the city viaduct from Mülheim main station to the Ruhr promenade has been open since October 24, 2017. The railway bridge over the Ruhr is currently being renovated, then it will first go to the Hochschule Ruhr West Campus Mülheim (May 15, 2019) and "sometime" also to Duisburg.
In the other direction, Essen, the RS1 currently ends in the middle of the university grounds near Gladbecker Straße (komoot.de/highlight/285615).
At the moment it looks like this end will last in Essen for the time being: waz.de/region/niederrhein/radschnellweg-rs-1-verzoegert-sich-in-essen-um-jahre- id212576983.html

The already completed track shows that the money invested has paid off. I recommend everyone, with or without a bike, to watch the track. For me, this is part of the upcoming infrastructure in local traffic. In NRW this kind of infrastructure has to be pushed much more. From people to us humans, almost CO2 neutral.

100 km long gives the impression that the route is already finished. However, this is not the case. There is only a short section between Essen and Mülheim as developed as in the pictures.

We are waiting for the realization
