Bike Touring Highlight
The piece over the city viaduct from Mülheim main station to the Ruhr promenade has been open since October 24, 2017. The railway bridge over the Ruhr is currently being renovated, then it will first go to the Hochschule Ruhr West Campus Mülheim (May 15, 2019) and "sometime" also to Duisburg.
In the other direction, Essen, the RS1 currently ends in the middle of the university grounds near Gladbecker Straße (komoot.de/highlight/285615).
At the moment it looks like this end will last in Essen for the time being: waz.de/region/niederrhein/radschnellweg-rs-1-verzoegert-sich-in-essen-um-jahre- id212576983.html

The already completed track shows that the money invested has paid off. I recommend everyone, with or without a bike, to watch the track. For me, this is part of the upcoming infrastructure in local traffic. In NRW this kind of infrastructure has to be pushed much more. From people to us humans, almost CO2 neutral.

Good evening Julia, if you still need something for your work, here's a little stop for an "active" cyclist; Personally, I think the RS1 is perfect and I'm definitely faster in the Gruga in Essen by bike from Oberhausen than by car, but the signs in MH around the "entry" of the RS1 can be "found" (in the truest sense of the Word) absolutely miserable and confusing. Otherwise the "exits" are well signposted

Question: how long is the finished piece (from where to where?) And which one
Part (length) is added ?? That includes the existing part
directly to?? Info is helpful for tour in the coming year
Would be nice if someone on site could tell you - thank you

"Regierungsbeziirk Münster" in the location is of course nonsense. The finished part exclusively in the RB Dusseldorf. Also, the future RS1 will be located almost exclusively in the RB Dusseldorf and Arnsberg. It is also not a point, but a section currently about 15 km long.

Hello Mr. Sellars,
the RS1 cycle route is ready from the University of Essen to Mülheim main station. Route length approx. 10-13 km.
In between (near Essen Schönebeck / Mülheim border) there is a connection to the Grugaradweg because you can go down to the Ruhr and get there on the Ruhrtal-Radweg.
