The Aquarius water tower has become one of the landmarks of the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr. Here you can learn a lot about water, its treatment and development in the water museum (set up by the local water supplier). Very interesting for families with children, as there is also a quiz in the water tower. Around the corner you will find a mobile snack bar on the bike path.

The Styrumer Wasserturm is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful water towers in the Ruhrgebiet. It was built in 1893 by August Thyssen, is about 50 meters high and was designed to ensure the water supply to the Thyssen works. After the relocation of the works to Duisburg in 1912, the Rheinisch-Westfälische Wasserwerksgesellschaft (RWW) took over this plant and thus provided the population until 1982. Then the water tower was decommissioned. In 1992 RWW opened the Aquarius Water Museum here. It is today an anchor point and part of the Route Industrial Heritage, which speaks for the peculiarity of the museum. Particularly striking is the tower by its unusual side entrance
