Burg Ramstein

The staircase is a bit hidden. You have to go up behind the garages of the hotel a staircase in the rock face.

There is also a restaurant for the really hungry :)

The castle cannot be visited due to Corona. The restaurant is open.

You can see the castle ruins from afar when you are on the way to the start of the hike. The castle is currently closed: COVID-19

The construction of the Lehensburg is attributed to the Archbishop of Trier Ratbod (883 - 915). In 1689 the castle was blown up. The approximately 25 m high four-storey residential tower has been preserved.

Ramstein Castle, a small castle with management.

A former castle ruin to which you can also climb. There is also a possibility to stop below the castle.

I would be happy to recommend the ascent to Ramstein Castle and a visit to the beer garden! By the way, the hiking trail goes right through the small beer garden! From the Butzerbachtal, a shortcut path was made not so long ago with a fairly new bridge. In the past, the castle ruins could easily be visited. Presumably because of Corona, however, this is currently (May 2021) blocked.

Nice castle ruins. Been inside a few years ago. Closed nowadays because of covid restrictions.

The name alone :-) the castle is a reason to go there.

The gastronomy is good and the prices are reasonable.

The ruins of Ramstein Castle stand on a 182 meter high red sandstone rock on the edge of the Meulenwald in the lower Kylltal near Kordel in Rhineland-Palatinate and thus belong to the hill castle type.

The castle is currently not open to the public due to Corona. But from the outside it is also very beautiful.
