The dune landscape in Augustdorf offers a special biodiversity. From the large viewing platform, the view extends far beyond the military training area and thus reveals the contrasts between unspoiled nature and the areas used by humans. The entire route is marked with signposts of a different kind. Large blocks of sandstone point the way to the hiker without a GPS device. There is a corresponding signpost at each junction.
