The game reserve of the city of Göttingen lies at the top of the Kehr in the Hainberg in Göttingen.
It is supervised by the staff of the specialist service Stadtwald. They take care of the animals in case of illness, feed special food every morning in the autumn / winter months, inspect the fence every day and always keep an eye on the animals and the terrain.
The area in which the fallow deer lives is about 20 ha in size. There live about 40 to 50 animals in a pack in their natural environment.
The wild boar is housed on an area of about 2 ha and lives in a family of about 20 to 30 animals.
