Tips
In a more than 160 m long hollow path (and in the immediate vicinity of a vineyard) lies the basement of Unterhaid. It consists of 29 rock cellars, two terraces and a summer cellar, which is also cultivated on nice days from 16 o'clock. According to experts, the plant is "among the most significant of its kind"; so far, it is not surprising that their elaborate restoration u. a. supported by the German Foundation for Monument Protection. During the restoration one thought also of the nature protection: one of the cellars serves - provided with a Einflugloch - as winter quarters for bats.
