In the 1920s, the Weinsberg stream was converted into a sewer and its upper reaches were piped. As dewatering takes place in Solingen in the mixed water system, the open area of the stream also had to be secured over long distances and developed as a so-called Emscher profile.

One of the most beautiful and picturesque valleys in Solingen is certainly the Weinsberg valley. It is shaped by the Weinsberger Bach, which, fed by its main source at Bismarckplatz, meanders through Brühl and the extensive valley between the Höhscheider and Widderter ridge up to the Wupper.
