Above the entrance doors of the Church of Saint Peter and Urbanus there is a large stained glass window with the two church patterns: Peter with the key and a book (symbols of his power as leader of the church, which was passed on to the popes); and Urban I as pope and with a large bunch of grapes. When the faithful left the church they saw the patron saints.

The Sint-Petrus en Urbanuskerk is a Romanesque church, made of Tournai stone. The church was restored several times, most radically in 1889 under the direction of architect August van Assche, so that it now looks pseudo-Romanesque. Of the original church, only the tower and parts of the choir have been preserved.
