Bojendorf lies in a small basin on the “Franconian Jura”, approx. 500 m above sea level and belongs to the municipality of Wattendorf. The municipality borders on the district of Lichtenfels. From old documents it can be seen that Bojendorf was named "Potechendorf" (village of Potecho) later Poichendorf and finally Potichendorf in 1126. The settlement arose with great probability between 800 and 900. The small church of Bojendorf is in the center of the village.
