The Törten experimental housing estate built by Walter Gropius in 1928, the Laubenganghäuser (balcony access houses) designed by Hannes Meyer and the Stahlhaus (steel house) completed in 1927 are outstanding examples of the Neues Bauen (New Building) of the 1920s.
