The bear has a brightly polished "golden nose".

Many passersby rub the bear's nose because it's supposed to bring good luck.

The Rohrer Bear there, a landmark of Rohr, was erected in 2011 to mark the 75th anniversary of Rohr zu Vaihingen as a replacement in bronze for the earlier sandstone sculpture. Many childhood memories of the citizens of Rohr are associated with the original sandstone bear from 1936, with the bronze bear this memory is kept alive and continued. The lake overflow towards Schwarzbach follows the former tram route to Schönbuchstrasse, where it disappears and reappears in the Dürrlewang shopping center.

The Rohrer Bear at Rohrer Lake is considered the symbol of Rohr. It was cast in bronze in 2011. Originally carved from sandstone, it had been repeatedly damaged by time and vandalism. The Stuttgarter Brünnele Foundation supported the initiative of the Rohr Local History Society, the Vaihingen-Rohr-Büsnau Citizens' Association, and the Stuttgart Parks Department to recreate the bear in bronze and successfully cast it at Strassacker in Süssen. This support was provided through donations, fundraising, and casting expertise.
