Until July 1964, Oberaichen belonged to the Musberg parish and received pastoral care from there. From then on, the Evangelical Parish of Oberaichen existed. The first services were held in a temporary church on Häuserwiesenstraße during the planning and construction phase of the new church.

The Friedenskirche (Peace Church) is built in the style of the so-called 'tent church'. The bell tower stands slightly apart from it and houses three bells. The middle bell bears the inscription: "He is our peace" (Ephesians 2:14).

On July 5, 1964, Pastor Martin Armleder, the first pastor of the new Oberaichen parish, was installed in office. The consecration of the church on July 19 also marked the beginning of new construction. Pastor Armleder emphasized: "Our new church shall be called 'Peace Church.' With its slender, heaven-facing spire, it shall be an unmistakable symbol that even in our 20th century, in a world so deeply threatened by fear and strife, humanity can be given a peace that goes far beyond our everyday comprehension."

In 1965, the "Achalmstraße" Protestant Kindergarten was opened.

In 1996, the newly designed "Pavillon Oberaichen" community center was opened.

The community center includes the Peace Church on Häuserwiesenstraße, the rectory with its administrative offices and staff residence, the pavilion, and the old part of the community center on Achalmstraße. The adjacent kindergarten is housed in the municipal building of the city of Leinfelden-Echterdingen.

On January 1, 2019, the parishes of Oberaichen and Leinfelden-Unteraichen merged to form the new Evangelical Parish of Leinfelden.
