From around the 7th century to the middle of the 12th century, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was settled by Slavic tribes. Even today place names testify to the Slavic influence. The Slavs settled in Mecklenburg - Vorpommern from the 7th century to the middle of the 12th century.
