Hemsberg

One of the numerous Bismarck towers that was erected as monuments for the founder of the empire around the turn of the century throughout Germany. The tower on the Hemsberg is 19 meters high and was built by the Odenwald Club, which still maintains and operates it today. In summer, the tower is open on Sundays and public holidays. Next to the viewing platform, you can also visit the small café.

The Hemsbergturm (Bismarckturm) near Bensheim is a must, it is ideally located on the route if you want to marvel at the vineyards of the Hessian Bergstraße, in summer you can be entertained on Sundays and enjoy the flair of the region.

Demand to Jochen: Are you safe with the possibility of promotion? On the attached sign is mutatis mutandis something of "The support club has up there club rooms". At least we did not find an open entrance, but we were always there when nothing was going on.

Beautiful tower with possibility to climb. Catering by local clubs - well-attended in good weather.

The tower is farmed on the weekends. From the top there is a magnificent view of the mountain road with Starkenburg, Melibokus and Auerbach Castle.

After a somewhat strenuous ascent, the Bismarck Tower offers enough space to recover for the march on the Burgensteig. In addition, outside the Corona times, there is a sale by the OWK local group Bensheim on weekends, which makes it twice as pleasant.

The Hemsberg is a 262.2 m high elevation on the Hessian mountain road in the Odenwald, south-east of Bensheim. The so-called "Bismarck Tower" is located on the summit.
