The Hermsdorf cemetery is curiously located in the Frohnau area. It was designed by the Berlin garden architect Ludwig Lesser in 1911 as a complex with the character of a park cemetery. The cemetery chapel is reminiscent of the architecture of the Schinkel period. The imposing gate building at the main entrance on Frohnauer Straße contains the inscription "Here is rest, grant the tired".

Also on the cemetery grounds is a 30m high old water tower from 1908 with a 500 cubic meter tank. The architect included the tower in the design of the cemetery. In its defensive character, it is reminiscent of a medieval city fortification.
