In the middle of the forest, a wooden summit cross marks the highest natural elevation of Reinickendorf, Ehrenpfortenberg. At 69 meters high, he is not exactly a giant among the mountains of Berlin, but nevertheless struggles a special story about his name. The forest landscape around the mountain was a popular hunting ground of Elector Friedrich III. On the occasion of his coronation as King of Prussia, he had Ehrenpforten erected in various places of importance to him personally - this mountain was one of those places. The gate has long disappeared and the summit cross was built much later in the 1990s.
