On the east side of the mill, on Mühlenstrasse, there is a plaque that explains some of the history of the mill. This mill is a drive-through Dutch mill. It was built in 1810 to replace a post mill from the 17th century. After the wings were dismantled in 1904, the mill continued to operate with an electric motor until it was shut down in 1952.
