The Storr is a rocky hill formed by a landslip on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye. The Storr is a sheer cliff, facing eastwards, above the Sound of Raasay. The sheer cliff face contrasts with the gentle undulating landscape to its west. Another landslip nearby is the Quiraing.

The Storr is a highlight of the Skye landscape and the longest landslip in Britain. The area in front of the cliff face is called the Sanctuary. It consists of a number of unusually shaped rock pillars, the remains of ancient landslips. One of the best known is the Old Man of Storr.

A well-maintained path used by most visitors starts from the A855 just north of Loch Leathan. It used to lead through a wooded area with occasional views of the cliff face.

After about a mile the path left the forest and continued into a spectacular, lunar landscape. Very recently the entire forest was cleared, so that there is now an unobstructed view from the start of the walk.

The top of The Storr can be reached by a route that climbs over a fence, passes a short but steep section of loose rock and continues north for about a mile. The summit is reached by returning slightly south. There is an alternative route that starts 500 yards south-west of the car park, following the course of a small river that cuts through the cliff face.
