The Trotternish Peninsula has some of the country's most fantastical landscapes and Needle Rock is a perfect example of some of its wildest features. Weathering over millennia has carved away a series of phenomenal rock pinnacles here, and this rock is one of the most immediately arresting.

The trails around Needle Rock and the Old Man of Storr are exposed and require sure-footedness but it makes for a brilliant adventure without having to stray too far from a car park. This makes it a doable excursion for both beginner hikers and experienced mountaineers.
