Historic water tower in the city park (built in 1905)

built in 1903/04, served the drinking water supply of 630 connected properties (approx. 18,000 people). The water was obtained from six wells, each 25 m deep. The water flowed to the consumers through a 38 km long cast iron pipe network. The tower is 41 m high, 10.7 m thick at the base and has a steel boiler with a capacity of 500 m³. In 1984 the tower was shut down for hygienic reasons.
