The sea of rocks near Murrhardt is about 60m high steep slope, which lies below a 100m long and up to 10m high demolition edge in Stubensandstein. Scattered over the slope are numerous small and up to several cubic meters large, mossy stone blocks. For young and old interesting and worth seeing.
The town is a 20-minute walk from Murrhardt's city center. There is also a parking lot on the nearby road. The Felsenmeer is part of the Waldlehrpfad Römersee - Riesberg.

.... Primeval forest type of this region
    ... beech fir forest
... huge boulders lie along the way (lower Stubensandstein / Fleinsstein)
... surefootedness and sturdy footwear required
... on a hike from the "Römersee" through the "Felsenmeer" in the direction of "Riesberg tower" (view) please note the steeper ascent in the section "Felsenmeer"

One should be sure-footed, again a miracle of nature.

This section of the trail is reminiscent of hiking in the Alps. Narrow and partly steep path with rocky sections. Good footwear is an advantage, especially if it is damp or wet. Imposing is the approximately 10m high vertical rock demolition.

There is a taller wooden tower above rock garden. From there you have a very good view of Murhardt and the surrounding area. Below is a small lake or large pond (Römersee).

Wild original landscape without changing the nature.

As a departure, the route can actually be described as mobile. S2 and exposed in places. In some places there are detours around the blocked sections. They are hardly recognizable.

With / after rain or ice, the descent is probably not without danger!

Landscape as it could have looked a few thousand years ago - natural!

One climbs a hundred meters further into the sea of rocks - a landscape covered with huge boulders. It impresses the hiker, who feels like a little ant in between.
Trolls, gnomes, forest gnomes, fairies and elves - what could not be hidden between the large boulders, behind fallen tree giants and in rotten tree stumps.

The Felsenmeer is worth it just because of the beautiful paths 🤗 the Römersee below the Felsenmeer is also highly recommended 🙌

The Felsenmeer is twice the namesake. Both for the new PremiumWanderWeg Feebspuren Felsenmerr ( as well as for the mountain bike tour 2 "Felsenmeer" from bin radeln! (Unfortunately out of stock).
Here the imagination can still run wild.

Wonderful and wildly romantic sea of rocks. Currently difficult to walk through partly due to snow and mud. Hiking sticks can help you not to lose your balance ;-)
