The "Goldgrund" nature reserve is located on the western bank of the Rhine near Maximiliansau, opposite the Rhine port steam power plant. It consists of an old Rhine loop and is flooded during high water. With its diverse flora and fauna, the nature reserve offers walking trails through the Rhine meadows or along the Rhine.
