At this wide part of the navigable river the canal boats can dock on the south side, with beautiful views to the town of St Jean and the entrance to its harbor. A few hundred meters further the tow path has an unpaved section, so the official EV6 bike trail here turns south to follow the road to Chagney for 2 km, where it reunites again with the towpath.
