Memorial: from 1944 to 1945 foreign prisoners were forced to work. They were harassed. A dark chapter of German history.

A sad chapter in German history. It is all the more important that such memorials exist and that they are preserved for future generations.
Very nice resting places for hikers and cyclists were created at the memorial. With new planting, which of course has not yet grown large. When that happens, a very nice resting place. Another option for a break is at the top of the memorial. There you have to sit on the grass because there are no benches.
There is a large number of information boards on the site around the building. I think it's very well done and informative. I wasn't in the museum itself because my dog was there.

The Augustaschacht memorial is a reminder of Germany's dark past. A museum inside tells the story of the people imprisoned there (forced laborers).
It is a good starting point for a hike in the surrounding forest area. There is still a lot to discover from the past there.

A former Nazi-era labor education camp which is now a museum.

It is no longer beautiful there. The big old trees were felled to create huge bare areas in favor of senseless parking spaces. Just sad and sad. The building is now completely free without a tree around it! Who likes it ...
