The Eberstein Castle, also called Neu-Eberstein or Neueberstein, is a castle in Gernsbach-Obertsrot in the Rastatt district of Baden-Württemberg. It was originally a spur castle of the Counts of Eberstein with a shield wall to the slope, the mountain side of which was reinforced by the rectangular keep. The complex was expanded several times and converted into a country palace by the Baden ruling family at the beginning of the 19th century. Today Schloss Eberstein serves as a hotel, restaurant, winery and private residence.
The castle is 130 meters above the valley floor of the Murg on a mountain nose in the north of the Gernsbach district of Obertsrot, which marks the transition from the deeply cut middle Murgtal to the lower Murgtal, which widens at Gernsbach. The rock from Forbach granite exposed on the slope to the Murg is known as the Grafensprung. A legend about Count Wolf von Eberstein is associated with him.
There is a road connection via Kreisstraße 3701, which leads from the Gernsbach core town to the castle and on to Müllenbild and via Landesstraße 78 to Baden-Baden-Oberbeuern. The next access by public transport is the Obertsrot stop of the Murgtalbahn, from which the palace complex can be reached via a 1.5 km section of the Murgleiter premium hiking trail.
