Fort 2 Wommelgem

Tip: Every last Saturday of the month you can take a guided historical walk in Fort 2 (except in December). The meeting place is the waiting room in parking lot 1. The tour departs promptly at 2 p.m.A tour with historical guides takes two hours or more. You can take the tour for free. The guides will guide you past abandoned shooting ramps, the officers' and main front building, through dark corridors and the mysterious island. In clear weather you can even enjoy a panoramic view of Antwerp from the unique roof platform of the inner fort and see buildings on the left bank of the Scheldt.You will also find the WW1 and WW2 Museums - Cannon Gallery - V-weapons in the Inner Fort. Noteworthy is the Cannon Gallery, where you can become acquainted with the heavy 19th century artillery.
