"The Royal Saxon Triangulation is a state survey carried out on the territory of the Kingdom of Saxony between 1862 and 1890 with the simultaneous creation of a trigonometric network." - de.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6nglich-S%C3%A4chsische_TriangulirungFrom each of these pillars one had lines of sight to the elevations all around, the distances of which could be measured in this way.
The most prominent in the view of the Gohlig are probably the Borsberg, the Wilisch, the Kahleberg, the Cottaer Spitzberg, Lilienstein and Großer Zschirnstein, whereby there were no measuring axes for the latter.
