Hiking Highlight (Segment)
The waters of the Breitach rushing through a narrow gorge from some hundred meters high, partly overhanging rock walls, falls over rock ledges further into the depth and sprayed thereby fine water drops, which create a mystical mood. An unforgettable natural spectacle.
The Breitachklamm is the deepest canyon in Europe, which can be hiked to a length of 1.5 km on well-traveled and secured paths. On hot summer days it is refreshingly cool, in winter the gorge is one of the only open ones at all.

In winter an amazing experience. Walking behind curtains of ice. Indescribable.

A truly indescribable event to go on a tour there. So that this is not clouded, you should still inquire in advance whether the gorge is also open - because in the spring and in the fall is always closed some time, because of thawing and the care / cutting of the trees.

Impressive masses of water after a thunderstorm.
In winter a very nice ice landscape.
Not always open.

Interesting hike through a canyon that has created the water in many years. In the summer and on hot days a great refreshment. Unfortunately also pretty crowded. Still very impressive.

Impressive natural spectacle, an absolute must in Kleinwalsertal / Oberstdorf.
July 27, 2015
Probably one of the most beautiful gorges in the tri-border region.
PS: Gasthof Walserschanze is currently closed.
Apparently you are looking for a new leaseholder.

A beautiful bridge over the Breitachklamm. Here it goes deep and you should have no fear of heights, if you look down.
July 29, 2018
On the way back to the parking lot, you will reach the exit directly over the bridge. From here you can see the big bridge in the gorge from a bird's-eye view.

Beautiful fortified hiking trail through the Breitachklamm
Daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (last admission 4:00 pm)
This unique natural monument is the deepest and one of the most impressive canyons in Central Europe and is one of the most beautiful geotopes in Bavaria! A visit is well worth every season - even in the rain, because the more water flows, the more impressive the Breitachklamm.

Parking fee 3.- Euro.
Admission adults 4.- Euro.
Children 1.50 (up to 15 years).
Best to arrive very early in the morning. We were there at around 8:30 and not only caught one of the only parking spaces in the shade, but were able to enjoy the gorge unhindered and almost for us. This is no longer possible at later times. Opening of the gorge officially at 9:00 clock.
Even in midsummer it can be cold in the gorge, as it is invariably shady there. At 30 ° C outside temperature in the morning we had only 15 ° C in the morning. So take the jacket!

Definitely worthwhile.
Pleasantly refreshing on hot days.
After rainy days even more impressive.

The Breitach forces itself near Tiefenbach through a wild gorge, which is accessible to visitors. Again and again it comes to heavy natural influences, be it by snow avalanches or rockfalls, as most recently in 1995, where the whole gorge has been devastated.
