At the outbreak of World War I, the Roth warriors vowed to build their own small chapel when they returned home happy. Construction was largely completed in spring 1923, and the votive chapel was inaugurated on May 13. The Rosary Madonna was chosen as patron. In the same year 1923, the painter Hans Stengel from Staffelstein produced the ceiling painting with the soldiers returning home and the chapel, which was characteristic of the time.
