Tips

  • Here's one of those handy rest huts. This is also called Buntenbocker station. But there are no rails here. The railway line from Osterode via Lerbach, Buntenbock to Clausthal Ostbahnhof was to run through this point. With the difference in altitude over a short distance, a very demanding route would have been necessary (3 tunnels from 145 m to 545 m in length, nine valley crossings from 15 to 30 m in height and up to 150 m in length. The First World War and a recession that followed shortly afterwards prevented this the realization.
