Here is one of those convenient rest huts. It's also called Buntenbock Station. There are no tracks here, however. The railway line from Osterode via Lerbach and Buntenbock to Clausthal East Station was supposed to run through this spot. Given the significant difference in altitude over such a short distance, a very challenging route would have been necessary (three tunnels ranging from 145 meters to 545 meters in length, and nine valley crossings with elevations of 15 to 30 meters and lengths of up to 150 meters). The First World War and a recession that followed shortly afterward prevented its realization.

The Buntenbock train station was supposed to be built at this point. However, the beginning of the First World War ended the construction of the Clausthal to Osterode railway before it could really get started.
Today there is a refuge with a rest area at this crossroads
