The Stockert rises almost 434 m above the west of the Münstereifel forest. It is easy to spot even for those unfamiliar with the area, as there is a radio telescope with a mirror diameter of 25 m on the top. The astro telescope is Germany's first radio telescope. The former research facility is now a listed building and is now used as an extracurricular learning location.
