In contrast to the other water-powered mills on Mühlenweg, the Rainbauernmühle has an undershot water wheel, i. H. the water is directed from the Acher through a channel from "below" onto the paddle blades of the wheel, thereby setting it in motion. The Rainbauernmühle is a popular photo motif in the Mühlendorf Ottenhöfen and has been produced by numerous publications in newspapers, magazines, radio and television known.
