In 2010, we established another location in Kunitz, on the northern outskirts of Jena.
The area is currently 9.1 hectares and is planted with the grape varieties Bacchus, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Silvaner and the new red wine varieties Acolon and Cabernet Jura.
The south-west of the Jenaer Grafenberg, diagonally below the Gleisburg, has a medium gradient.
The soil is "Röt", a formation of the Bundsandstein.
This means that the Pinot Blanc grape variety stands on heavy, clayey sandstone weathered soil in Grafenberg and on lighter shell limestone weathered soil in Bad Sulza (Sonnendorf).
We are excited to see how the wine characters will develop in the next few years.(Source: thueringer-wein.de)
