In 1911, in the Hohen Busch, near the Bismarck Tower, the city of Viersen built a wrought-iron elevated tank with a capacity of 2000 cbm for drinking water pumped from the nearby Aachener Weg waterworks. In contrast to the Aachener Weg water tower built in 1890 with its 500 cbm content, which was taken out of service in 1980, the container on the Hohe Busch is still in use in 1992 after extensive renovation that did not change the appearance.

A drinking water reservoir built in 1911. It once held 2000 m³ of drinking water, but is no longer in use today.

Beautiful old and well-preserved water tank.
Fits in well with the overall picture.
