Hiking Highlight
Eller Castle has been owned by the city of Düsseldorf since 1950 and is generally not open to the public.
The castle park, which is crossed by the Eselsbach, is accessible all the time and offers a park with ponds, islands, bridges, a large lawn and play area as well as a fenced free-range area for dogs. During our visit (working days) dogs were running around freely everywhere, which didn't bother anyone.
When the trees are green again, the noises from the nearby A 46 and the railway line should also be muffled.
As far as we have found, there is no place to stop for a break nearby.

Very romantic location, easy to reach and, because of the water around the building, very photogenic with the reflections in the castle moat.

On the grounds is also a poultry yard, where fresh eggs are sold.

The renovated farm houses from the castle have turned out great. In addition, a great, quiet park with "wild" sections. Birds and nutrias can also be seen.
