This vantage point not only offers a beautiful view of the Rhine, which everyone knows, but also of the Urdenbacher Kämpe, a special highlight.
With an area of 316 hectares, the Urdenbacher Kämpe is the largest nature reserve in Düsseldorf. It is a typical piece of old Lower Rhine cultural landscape with pollard willows, fruit trees and valuable wet meadows. The flowering fruit trees are particularly worth seeing.
Due to its supraregional importance, the Urdenbacher Kämpe was included in the European Natura 2000 protected area system and has enjoyed international protection ever since. In addition, the area, supplemented by the Garather Mühlenbach, is subject to the FFH guidelines. (FFH areas are areas that have been selected for the "Natura 2000" protected area system.)

Nice view of the Rhine ...! From there it is only a few meters to the Rhine meadows for a hike to the boom, along the Rhine, over gravel and meadow. Good footwear required!

If it rained, the path from here to the destination is very muddy. Fine black sand, very slippery.
