About hermanspann

"Draußensein" zieht für mich die Wurst vom Brot. Rausgehen, Neues entdecken - egal ob in der Region oder weitweitweg, da ich ansonsten als Freiberufler seit über 20 Jahren eher an den Schreibtisch gefesselt bin - da ist Verkehrsberuhigung erstmal keine Option.
Da ich nebenbei noch als Stockfotograf unterwegs bin, sind die meisten meiner Touren vor allem auf Fotomotive ausgerichtet.

      Where are we going?
On a city tour with a seat in Kempen on the Lower Rhine.
      What shoud that?
Kempen has a very romantic old town with plenty of seating instead of a stand-up snack and a city wall to walk around. So you can take a lot of photos, stroll, fill your stomach and do a little shopping - but above all photography and goodies. From the easily accessible train station, you will pass a castle in the old town. Anyone who likes to eat solid food is well served here around the butter market. Then you can look at the city limits including the mill from the outside and finally recharge your batteries. Especially in summer the butter market is nice and shady.
      What should I wear?
City clothes around the body and comfortable shoes ... Bringing provisions is completely superfluous here. Also like to take photos with a tripod in the evening - it's worth it with the beautiful old lanterns.
      What's for dinner?
Simply everything and plenty of it.
      How do I get there?
Regional train in the direction of Kleve to Kempen train station.
So: City gazing, sitting in town - out with you.

      Where are we going?
In the Sauerland and there, more precisely, in the Hemer Felsenmeer.
      What shoud that?
The Hemer Felsenmeer is a Tertiary geotope with a rugged rocky landscape that looks a bit as if a giant toddler has thrown his block box against the wall. There are caves and, above all, hidden deep crevices in which you can have a bad accident if you are stupid enough not to stay on the paths. A bridge and a wooden walkway lead through the rocky landscape, offering extraordinary views - great for taking photos.
      What should I wear?
Definitely sturdy footwear - the last part of the way back to the sea of rocks to the main road leads steeply down an unpaved beaten path - that is anything but fun ... Surefootedness and practice in such terrain are essential here.
      What's for dinner?
      Bringbütterkes
      How do I get there?
From Iserlohn city station with the regional bus 1 to Hemer Fichtestrasse
The hike on the rocks - get out!

      Where are we going?
On a round and multifaceted city tour through Osnabrück.
      What shoud that?
In addition to Pumpernickel, Osnabrück has a lot more to offer - especially from an architectural point of view, especially if you choose from the rich culinary offer - practically like a movie theater with popcorn - and coffee is not neglected here either. The city has a cathedral, some churches and a very beautiful old town with narrow streets and half-timbered houses. During a visit to the Pernickelmühle and the Pernickel tower, you can think about where the Pum has gone, what Osnabrück has to do with Pumpernickel and Napoleon (or his horse) and whether the Pumpernickel isn't just the dwarf and the French in the end just didn't have a decent taste of bread back then.
So the tour has a lot to offer.
      What should I wear?
Comfortable, functional clothing from the city is completely sufficient - the main thing is that you feel well.
      What's for dinner?
Everything - and coffee ... very important .. Interestingly enough, wine is not a small amount either.
      How do I get there?
Osnabrück Hbf and then walk around.
So: go once, everything inside - make sure that you get out!

      Where are we going?
      Pesch Castle, Gripswald and Ossum
      What shoud that?
The entire country tour - from the Strümp Friedhof stop, it goes through the forest past Pesch Castle to Haus Gripswald and to Ossum. There is a lot of landscape and a nice forest walk. In Ossum it is worth not only looking at the church from the outside.
      What should I wear?
No demanding routes - normal footwear is enough.
      What's for dinner?
Backpacking provisions - the route leads through the deepest pampas.
      How do I get there?
From the Haus Meerbusch underground station, take the bus. If you like, you can get off at the Geismühle on the way back.
So: a route for rangers - make sure you get out!

      Where are we going?
From Blankenstein Castle in Hattingen through forest and hills to Haus Kemnade.
      What shoud that?
Castle view, ice cream, forest and beautiful landscapes: Normally there is not only a decent sundae on the market square in front of the church, but also goodies with a view in the castle - plus further vantage points in Gethmann's garden and “it's going downhill” is here for a change positive. The viewpoints and the view from the winding driveway of the castle are of course worthwhile for photographers.
      What should I wear?
In any case, sturdy shoes with profiled soles - surefootedness is required on the way down. In summer, bug spray can't hurt either. A wide-angle lens is worthwhile for the Kemnade moated castle in order to get a picture of the castle and its reflections in the water.
      What's for dinner?
Ice cream and hearty and / or optionally cakes with a view of the Ruhr valley.
      How do I get there?
From Bochum or Hattingen train station by bus to Blankenstein Castle. Then back from Haus Kemnade in both directions.
So: not just something for damsels - make sure you get out!

      Where are we going?
Consolidation - which sounds like the name of a disco formation from the seventies, is in fact rather and former coal - a historic mine with a park in Gelsenkirchen.
      What shoud that?
The Consolidation colliery is pure Ruhrpott history - not only because of its surroundings, which already served as a film set when someone had to get some fresh air. The colliery buildings themselves (Doppelbock headframe, machine house, concrete, headframe and fan building) provide beautiful photo opportunities and are also a cultural venue.
      What should I wear?
This here doesn't require any special clothing - if you like, you can get a poplin cuffed jacket in the nostalgic Ruhrpottrentner style to blend in seamlessly with the local color and indulge in memories - I grew up in the Pott - I know what I'm talking about: Wherever it takes the Ruhrpottler out into the world, he always carries a piece of egg briquette under his heart.
      What's for dinner?
Pommesmitwurst of course ... wow think ...
      How do I get there?
From Gelsenkirchen main station with the underground to Bergwerk Consolidation - also a worth seeing photo motif.
So: come on yummy at dat Berchwerch, hmmm ... getz for real - make sure that you come out!

      Where are we going?
Dump Rungenberg - dump luck with a view.
      What shoud that?
The Rungenberg dump at the former Hugo colliery in Gelsenkirchen is great for when you've eaten a lot of black bread. A staircase leads right up to the double summit with the two floodlights and a grandiose all-round view. So: a lot of industrial culture, landscape and physical activity - it is not without reason that the tour ends near various fast food establishments. It's not that much of a stretch, but it's up to the top.
      What should I wear?
Sturdy shoes, comfortable hiking clothing and something for taking photos.
      What's for dinner?
Everything the Ruhrpott has to offer - this is the home of French red and white fries and bratswurst.
      How do I get there?
From Gelsenkirchen Hbf by underground to Hugostrasse
So: let's go here, so that withered meat can get some fresh air again - get out!

      Where are we going?
After Mettmann Stadtwald and the old town around the church hill.
      What shoud that?
The path is based on part of the so-called "discovery loops" in the region. In addition to the city forest and the Goldberger mill, Mettmann also has a pretty cute little old town with nice outdoor restaurants. Not only the mill, but also the square around the Lambertus Church offer numerous really beautiful photo motifs - it's worth it again in the evening because of the lighting and the old lanterns - also: if you like, you can then take a tour through the Neandertal / Museum.
      What should I wear?
Sturdy shoes - rest according to the weather.
      What's for dinner?
Everything that Mettmann's old town has to offer - including tasty Altbier - is a reason to use public transport.
      How do I get there?
S-Bahn station Mettmann Stadtwald from Düsseldorf or Wuppertal.
So: Mett, Mett, baby - get you out!

      Where are we going?
To Oberhausen-Sterkrade for the colliery ... so getz conveyor tower - for a quickie - only intended as a tip for a photo spot.
      What shoud that?
The historic winding tower of the Sterkrade colliery is part of the industrial culture in North Rhine-Westphalia - practically a sight - it is also conveniently located on the green path of the HOAG railway line. Anyone who has eaten enough Bütterkes can not only look at the photospot, but also hike or cycle in the direction of Walsum or Gasometer and Landschaftspark Nord. Otherwise there is still a lot of green around the tower.
      What should I wear?
Doesn't require special clothing - it's just a short visit.
      What's for dinner?
On the way there is a snack bar and a bakery.
      How do I get there?
      Regional train Oberhausen Sterkrade station
So: don't be lazy, hmmm - make sure you get out!

      Where are we going?
From Velbert Leberhof on the Höhenweg to Isenberg Castle and along the Ruhr to Hattingen.
      What shoud that?
The whole landscape is very beautiful all around - whether on the Höhenweg or along the Ruhr. From the castle you have a great view of the Ruhr valley in the direction of Dahlhausen. Putting in Bütterkes is a must because it goes up steeply. The main house on the castle ruins makes a slim foot and shortly before the finish you can make yourself over cakes and ice cream in a café. The traffic management at the bridge over the tracks shortly before the Hattingen train station would, however, be another topic for a full-length program about traffic planning failure for pedestrians.
      What should I wear?
Sturdy shoes - absolutely - the high path is unpaved.
      What's for dinner?
Everything that the tin can gives - or the café at the train station - even if the tour has already run there.
      How do I get there?
      S-Bahn station Velbert Leberhof.
So: off to the mountains - get out!
