From here there is a magnificent view over the northern part of the Harz. Soon comes the Bismarckklippe, which is also recommended.

This is where the Hirtenstieg Trail begins and ends. Therefore, it's a highlight, so simply hike the trail. Make sure you're in good shape!

At the crossroads itself, you can continue the hike in the planned direction, or, as a tip, head straight ahead, coming down the valley from the Brocken, you'll find the ranger station, Stamp Point 2 / Scharfenstein (Ranger Station). From the ranger station, it's signposted, and a short hike leads to Scharfenstein. It's worth it; a breathtaking panoramic view awaits you there!

The Hermannsklippe is a granite cliff located on the Hermannstraße section of the Heinrich Heine Hiking Trail below the Brocken summit. It is located 747 meters above sea level and just a few dozen meters before the junction of the aforementioned trail with the Hirtenstieg.

The freely accessible, flat rocky cliff is easy to climb from the trail. It offers a beautiful view to the north of the mountains and forests of the Harz Mountains, as well as far into the northern Harz foothills.

The cliffs of the Hermannsklippe are not specially secured. Therefore, caution is advised when climbing the granite cliff. Be careful not to fall. These safety precautions are especially important when hiking with children.
